a day of friendship, inspiration and family masala

for the past few weeks i have had what seems to be a self-imposed bout of insomnia. i finally managed last night to fall asleep at 11. so this is the first morning in ages that i do not nap after dropping off the kids at school. it doesn’t sound like a big deal but it is for me. i was missing hours from my daily routine and today i got that time back. i started by baking cookies for abed, as a farewell treat (sadly he’s leaving CAP for greener pastures)

i thought i’d make them extra special by placing them in a jar and adding a label with a brand name, logo and slogan. why not, i had the time

i later took these three (among other works) to dar nur. these sold minutes after we displayed them. it sounds like i’m showing off about this, i’m not. i felt like they went before i was able to give them a proper farewell. it’s hard to explain

i love children’s drawings and paintings. no one does it like they do. these are right outside his workspace

everything in this picture is delicious. i was so inspired. i think i may need to start thinking about renting a proper studio that doesn’t double as my home
