I’m watching Pride & Prejudice. The one with Colin Firth, not Keira Knightley. Sigh. I want to be Lizzie.

As long as we’re talking about my Watercolor Sketchbook, I thought I’d share some extra photos taken around my brother’s new home in Surrey.

You know I love to use color. This time I challenged myself to stick to blues: prussian, cobalt and ultramarine. I actually enjoyed having a limited color choice and may try this on a larger surface. Listen to Fun Boy Three Our Lips are Sealed.

This is actually a new watercolor sketchbook I just bought from Green & Stone’s in London. The reason I’ve started yet a new one is that the one I was previously painting in is still at the Mathaf Museum in Doha. What could I do, I had the urge to do some watercoloring last night and this morning.

I didn’t realize what a burden the year 2013 was on me until I woke up this morning to a new year. There is something so sweet about an even number, I can’t explain it. Odd numbers seem pointy and angular. They’re unfriendly, unlucky and just plain bad news. So happy new year, everyone!

I had a lovely morning with my niece Yasmeen yesterday. We went to Jarir bookstore and each walked out with one bag, one canvas and a gift certificate. We went to mine where she drew and I painted. Does it get better than that on a Saturday morning?

Here is a perfect example of overworking a piece. It’s really bugging me. I don’t want to rip either page, but I might glue something over one. I don’t know, I’ll have to see. I killed my gorgeous sketchbook.
