Plane Sketches|June 14, 2010, Jazeera Airways Flight 256, Kuwait to Beirut
Posted on June 20, 2010 4 Comments
I finally ventured into my dad’s printing/scanning/uploading system and it all worked smoothly and now I’m a happy girl again. I feel so liberated. This trip to Beirut from Kuwait was quite swift and uneventful. Two hours and five minutes, an ideal time for any trip 35,000 feet up in the air. I’ve also sneaked […]
Away For Ten Days

I’m in Beirut. I don’t have internet on my computer so it’s hard to update, upload or do anything new. So this is just a forget-me-not. I’m going to list some of my favorite posts for you to visit: Home, My Fourth Dream, and Them & Me. Of course there are many more that I […]
Homes:Dr. Tim Sullivan

Dr. Sullivan sent me this last night. He spread the pictures on the wall but felt they were lost, so he divided them by this sadu an ‘old bedouin woman who made it’ gave to him a few weeks ago. He says, ‘I say hello to the children every morning.’ That is so cool.

Homes: Peter Duckett|Ma’adi, Cairo

What a journey. About a month or two ago, my high school Spanish teacher, Mr. Duckett, e-mailed me. He liked my painting, Drum, and was interested in buying it. Of course I mentally jumped up and down with joy because it’s always great to find a home for my girls. I immediately, however, crashed because […]

This is a lady who was on my wall for over a year. A few days ago she just couldn’t stay on my wall any longer so she took a leap. A few days before that, Jana came over to take some photos and said, ‘Hey, she looks like Reham.’ I agreed. And then she […]
Cultural Re-Expressions Revisited|The Miniatures
Posted on June 5, 2010 4 Comments
A week ago, I got a call from Dr. Tim Sullivan. He said he liked my paintings from the 2004 Cultural Re-Expressions exhibition, but that his walls in Utah weren’t big enough for the large-scale works. So he commissioned me to make smaller ones. Tiny ones, to be exact. Tiny for my big, fat fingers. […]

An Experimental Video I Did Eons Ago
Posted on June 2, 2010 3 Comments
This is a video I made in 2001 for an exhibition I had at the Dar Al-Funoon Gallery. I recommend that you view this with music playing. It’s a pretty long video with mistakes and glitches. Therefore, also recommended is doing something else at the same time. Enjoy the viewing and non-viewing.

Oh no I got my homonyms mixed up again! It’s ‘waist’ not ‘waste’. Been collecting too much garbage after the litterbugs.
Art Lesson at the G (and Other Goings on)|May 30

Sometimes visitors drop in during my lessons with Eman. My sister-in-law Jana came through to take some photos of the two-dimensional Yasmine and another painting. It’s always fun to introduce people from my many different worlds to each other. As for Eman’s scarf, well, that’s finally done. The painting isn’t complete yet as she still […]
